C3–C7 Spinal Cord Injury / San Diego, California

At the young age of 18, Mykeah was involved in a multiple car collision after her friend fell asleep at the wheel. Unfortunately, Mykeah was not wearing a safety belt, was thrown from the car, and woke up in the hospital with a spinal cord injury.

She spent the next six years on the road to mental, physical, and emotional recovery. She has managed to remain humble, while keeping God a priority in her life. Thus far, she has made tremendous progress. She is currently enrolled in school and plans to pursue a degree in psychology. She is also working on publishing a book.

Mykeah works every day towards getting to the point of no longer needing a wheelchair and becoming more independent in every possible way.

Getting Back Up is proud to support Mykeah with an exercise-based therapy scholarship to Project Walk San Diego.
