C1-C7 Spinal Cord Injury / North Highlands, California

In 2000 life threw “Lasha” a curveball when she was left paralyzed due to complications from a surgery to remove a tumor in her spine, just two months after giving birth to her daughter. In an instant, she was left completely paralyzed and required a ventilator to help her breathe.

By the grace of God and through her efforts, she has improved her situation and can now breathe on her own, regulate her bowel and bladder, benefit from function on the right side of her body, and take steps with the assistance of a walker.

Her next goal is to receive her Master’s Degree in Human Services and Social Work, and eventually establish a nonprofit to assist others living with a spinal cord injury.

Getting Back Up is proud to support Earlasha with an exercise-based therapy scholarship to SCI-FIT in Sacramento, California.
