T9 Spinal Cord Injury / Huntington, New York

In June 2014, three months after the birth of his daughter, Ray woke up paralyzed from the waist down due to a Spinal Epidural Abscess. The abscess, which was causing compression of the spinal cord, was removed, but left Ray with irreparable damage to his spinal cord.

Born and raised on Long Island, Ray has maintained his life and position in his community. He has excelled in his career, whether it be his time working in construction, or his most recent position as Director of Maintenance.

As the sole provider for his child, Ray is determined to continue with his rehab in order to grow stronger. Ray draws a tremendous amount of support from his friends and family, and is proud to consider Getting Back Up part of that network.

Getting Back Up is proud to support Ray with funding towards the purchase of a Numotion Shower Commode Chair.
